… hiking.
Come on, we were in WV. We had to hike at least once!
There were LOTS of turtles.
The kids with their “war paint” on.
If we could just sit in the woods for an hour and watch the miracle of life occurring in one square foot of ground, there would be no way we could deny creation! Our Heavenly Father created all of these things to happen, things that we have not even discovered yet…things that have no possible way of creating themselves through chance! A lump of play dough remains a lump of play dough regardless of how many millions of years it sits under the couch cushions!
…to Camden Park…
Its amazing how large things seem when you are 5 years old. The last time I had been to Camden Park in Huntington was when I was about that age. Matt says he was a little older, but regardless, we were both in awe of how small this 100+ y/o amusement park seemed now. The kids on the other hand in their little world thought it was huge! Gotta love the innocence of childhood!
It was hot, but that didn’t stop us!
Lily’s first carousel ride..
Andrew was the perfect height to enjoy the small rides with Mikey and get the thrills from the big rides with Maddy and Ryan.
The big kids had an absolute blast! My germaphobe mind went into overdrive looking at the water on the log flume! Oh well, they had fun!
Maddy and Ryan were attached at the hip…usual!
The twins
Mkey well trained by Aunt Amy…the map follower!
The Stroller Club
The last time I was at Camden Park I rode the Rainbow at least 20 times, round and round. This time I thought I would try it again with the bigger kids.
Its now called the Bullseye and I am years older and get motion sickness since having 3 kids! Rainbow-fun, Bullseye-not fun. Yes, spinning hundreds of times a minute also causes motion sickness. I felt like I was pregnant with #4! Oh well, it was worth a try!
Bumper cars…much more my pace!
We closed the trip to Camden Park with games and ice cream. Yum Yum!
Notice there were not many pics of Ryan? The child won’t stop long enough for me to take pics!
…to old but GREAT friends!
That night, we were blessed enough to have the Brigg’s family host a little get together of some high school and college friends of Matt and mine. It was like no time had passed except the fact that most of had kids. It was really great seeing the kids together!
Scott and Jamie Haught’s little one Samuel and our Andrew…looks just like their Daddy’s 25 years ago!
Scott and Erin Lewis’s sweet Madilynn.
Josh and Denise Briggs little boy, Colton , he loved some Lily! So cute!
Erin and the newest baby, Paisly, presh!
Ryan, again, was too busy to stop for pics! But Andrew and Lily were game!
Lily and her new favorite toy…the floor air conditioner register!
The best thing about old friends?
It was like no time had passed except the fact that most of had kids. It was really great seeing the kids together!
Now if we could just do it more often!
